Ambitious and sharp-witted, but little noticed within her team, young music journalist Ariel (Ayo Edebiri) feels underappreciated in her job. When she is unexpectedly invited to the remote estate of legendary pop star Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich), who went into hiding 30 years ago, she recognizes her once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: to write an article about his new album that could change her future.
Together with her colleague Stan (Murray Bartlett), influencer Emily (Stephanie Suganami) and TV presenter Clara (Juliette Lewis), Ariel accepts the exclusive invitation. However, the cult-like community of obedient fanatics living in the desert with Moretti turns out to be a dangerous and manipulative following.
