For many it is the opera of all operas! Without a doubt, Mozart and his librettist Da Ponte wrote a masterpiece of opera history with Don Giovanni.
Tony Award winner Ivo van Hove presents a new interpretation of this tragicomedy, depicting the familiar tale of deceit and damnation in an abstract architectural landscape, illuminating the darker corners of the story and its characters. Maestra Nathalie Stutzmann makes her Met debut, and Peter Mattei is an almost magnetically appealing Don Giovanni.
